Noel Parenti and Meghan Prior
Together Noel and Meghan bring more than 50 years of experience in the performing and movement arts to their practice and teaching of yoga. Their backgrounds in ballet, theater dance, tap dance, modern dance, mime and choreography enable them to integrate their skills uniquely into the yoga experience.
Both are certified yoga instructors: Meghan - Ashtanga Yoga with Larry Schultz in San Francisco; Noel - Ananda Yoga at The Expanding Light. They have also studied the major forms of yoga including Kripalu, Ananda, Integral, Ashtanga, Iyengar, Kundalini and Anusara Yoga. Noel is a practitioner of Thai Yoga and a certified Laughter Yoga facillitator. Meghan is currently pursuing Body-Mind Centering certification. They are members of Yoga Alliance.
Patricia Hudgens
Patricia took her MELT Hand and Foot certification training in New York City in 2009 from the creator of this method, Sue Hitzmann. Patricia completed her MELT roller training with Sue in NYC in May and June 2010. Certified to teach individuals and groups, Patricia is registered at www.meltmethod.com as one of only three MELT instructors in North Carolina.
Having practiced yoga with Candi Lavender at the Lavender Yoga Studio for 5 years, Patricia decided to become a yoga teacher herself, taking her Gentle Yoga Teacher Training at Satchidananda Yogaville in June 2010, where she has also received spiritual guidance over the years attending numerous retreats and workshops. Prior to practicing with Candi, Patricia studied yoga with Louisa Klein.
As an avid hiker and dancer, Patricia wants all of us to enjoy an active, healthy, pain-free lifestyle through Yoga and MELT.
Jean Marie May
Jean began classical ballet training in Miami Springs Florida at the age of 4 and continued classical modern dance and ballet training at Florida State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance in 1978. Further notable professional training in Modern Dance continued in New York City from 1978-1980 at the Martha Graham School and with Ruth Currier.
Notable professional performance work was with Dance Miami in Coconut Grove Florida, a founding member of Miami Momentum Dance Company, a dancer in Stompin’ at La Ronde at the Fontainebleau Hilton on Miami Beach, and as a dancer in various TV commercials in Miami.
Memorable teaching positions include Jon Devlin’s Dancercise in NYC, In Motion Dance Studio in Miami FL, a Dance Specialist in the Winston Salem/Forsyth County Schools, a Dance Specialist/Choreographer at Summit School and Salem Academy in Winston-Salem, NC, and Pilates instructor at North Carolina School of the Arts. Certified as a Pilates personal trainer with the Physical Mind Institute in August 2000 and certified in the Gyrotonic Exercise Method in October 2004.
Jean is the owner/director of Mindful Movement Center, a member of the Pilates Method Alliance and has taught yoga, Pilates equipment and mat, Gyrotonic and dance exercise locally in Winston-Salem since 1990.
She is also the proud mother of two sons.
