The highest goal of meditation is direct union with The Divine, but no matter what one attains, meditation is a powerful tonic for body/mind/spirit.

This class covers basic meditation techniques and introduces tools for more effective and deeper states of your meditation practice.

Personal Statement
I’m very pleased to be able to introduce you to several effective techniques for meditation. Because I only teach what I myself have practiced, you will receive a personal perspective based upon my experience. Not all meditation techniques are equal. The important thing is that you discover what really works best for you.
I was inspired by and followed the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda and received my yoga training from the disciples of Yogananda’s successor, Swami Kriyananda at the Expanding Light in California.

The path of Bhakti Yoga (the yoga of devotion) has revealed itself to me as the topmost yoga, and so in the last several years I have been practicing Krishna Consciousness. My spiritual master is Swami B.V. Tripurari (Bhagavad Gita - Its Feeling and Philosophy), whose guru was A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the world’s foremost Vedic scholar,  teacher and Founder-Arcarya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness. He translated Bhagavad-Gita (Bhagavad Gita As It Is), Srimad Bhagavatam, and other Vedic scriptures with his commentaries. The primary form of meditation that I practice is japa meditation. This will be one of the meditation forms I will introduce as part of the course.
